Reintroducing Toney Healthcare

Rebranding to reflect who we’ve always been, and where we’re going.

We’re excited to unveil our new identity, connecting our grounding principles to our collective mission of service. The fundamental ideals that fueled our growth and partnerships over the past 15 years will remain core to our exciting plans for expansion and innovation.

We believe that healthcare transformation must be collaborative with aligned priorities and goals to strengthen the healthcare ecosystem. We believe in openly sharing all we’ve learned in pursuit of operational excellence. We believe in serving our peers, partners and populations with humanity and empathy.

We also believe in the spark that happens when people with diverse perspectives and shared values come together.

Where We Come From: We’ve always been focused on impacting people’s lives through healthcare. As a private practice psychiatrist in the 1980s, Dr. Sam Toney realized he could only impact the patients he could see directly, and he could only see so many patients a day. As a result, he transitioned into population health where he could positively impact entire communities.

In 2008, Dr. Toney founded Toney Healthcare Consulting as a small consulting firm initially providing health plans with physician review services. Now, after years of growth and experience, we’re a full-service managed care firm with seasoned professionals for every aspect of health plans’ medical management. While we still offer consulting services, we’re much more than that as we roll up our sleeves and work alongside health plans to positively impact the populations they serve.

Where We’re Going: Our rebrand reflects our commitment to excellence and to grow our resources and capabilities in service to the health plan community, and other risk-bearing entities, on a much bigger scale.

To get more insight into the rebrand, we spoke with Dr. Toney.

What does the rebrand mean for Toney Healthcare?

The process of a rebrand is rooted in surfacing core values, taking a deep look at our partnerships, and planning for the future. It means speaking our truth, understanding our clients and their businesses, and identifying how we can serve our partners and the healthcare industry even better.

Being clear about who we are and how we deliver value creates clarity about our direction.

Describe the rebranding process – was it just picking colors and a new logo?

It’s certainly more than picking colors and designing a logo.  It’s been an intentional and strategic introspection that informed the style, imagery and words we use.  I love our new logo, color palette and visual identity -- because they represent the underlying work we did to look deep within our team and to listen to our clients’ candid feedback. The words we use reflect the ways we understand and support our audiences.

We asked a lot of people a lot of questions about their experiences working with our team. The patterns were so clear. Many of those thoughts have been reflected in customer quotes on our new website. What stood out was the sense of being truly collaborative, an appreciation for our knowledge and expertise, and the way we go about our business with humility, kindness and quiet confidence.

What did the rebranding process reveal about Toney Healthcare that may have surprised you?

We realized just how much we know, how much we do and how much our customers appreciate us. Also how every client partnership is unique but the common thread is that we consistently find the optimal path to excellence.

How can people engage with Toney Healthcare moving forward?

Our mission is to positively impact communities and populations by serving health plans with tailored solutions and managed care experts.

We love helping to solve the problems they’re encountering and can’t wait to make their jobs easier. And we like to do it for health plans big or small.

So if you’re simply needing a bit of guidance, or needing an entire team, let’s start a conversation. We’re ready to help.
