Helen is an experienced healthcare clinician, senior manager, and consultant with experience in the development and administration of medical management approaches including population health initiatives, case/disease management, quality improvement, utilization management and clinical program planning. She is a certified adult nurse practitioner and an active National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) administrative surveyor. She has held previous management positions with NCQA and the National Quality Forum in Washington, DC. Helen has worked for a number of leading managed care organizations including Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, HealthPartners, Kaiser Permanente and Aetna.
Helen has expertise in the areas of quality improvement, performance measurement, and compliance assessment against state, federal, accrediting body, and purchaser requirements. As a consultant she has worked on a variety of health care management and quality improvement projects, including build/buy analyses for care coordination efforts, clinical program planning/operations, medical management strategic planning, quality assessment/planning/oversight, and accreditation readiness assessment, preparation and planning. She has assisted managed care organizations, provider organizations and acute care hospitals to seek accreditation, to develop enhanced cost and case management capabilities and to develop care management strategies in support of optimal clinical and transition management of patients.
Helen has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan.
